An owner of a customised Lamborghini Murcielago in Qatar has reportedly flown his prized supercar to London and back for nothing more than a scheduled oil change.
According to an article in The Sun today, the Lamborghini was transported in a scheduled Qatar Airways flight to Heathrow, where it was then carried to the specialist mechanics in London on a truck.
As soon as the work was complete, the £190,000 supercar was placed back into the hold of the jet and sent back to its rich Arab owner.
It's estimated that the cost of this exercise would have been in the region of £25,000, including £20,000 for the flight alone.
Unsurprisingly, there has been outrage from environmentalists at the utter waste and extravagance displayed by the Lamborghini's owner, though representatives of the Italian supercar maker commented that this kind of thing is not all that unusual and probably brings kudos to the sheikh amongst his friends.
The Murcielago is a highly customised LP640, similar to that used by Bruce Wayne in the latest Batman movie, The Dark Knight.
