Ford Fiesta ST150
When's it coming and what is it?
A hot hatch version of the Fiesta will make its debut at May's British motor show at the NEC and go on sale in October. Which is great news, as small, hot Fords are part of Britain's motoring heritage.
Why should I care?
Among the competition, Ford has a reputation for building excellent hot hatches and a 150bhp, 2.0-litre-powered Fiesta ST150 ought to follow in that tradition. The chassis will be stiffened up to give strong ride and handling and the interior given a sporting spruce-up with high-backed rally-style seats, unique trim materials and a dashboard brightened with metallic trim highlights.
What makes it really special?
A heady power-to-weight ratio and grippy chassis ought to make the Fiesta ST150 into a challenger for best hot hatch of 2004. And with an interior bristling with go-faster cues such as those rally seats and that metallic trim, the ST150 will feel quite special from behind the wheel.
