When's it coming and what is it?

The replacement for Britain's favourite car will make its international debut at the NEC motor show in May and go on sale in December.

Why should I care?

Today's Focus has won popularity with a combination of great looks, good value and really great driving dynamics. The new one promises to do the same, but will bring with it some key improvements. For starters the new Focus is bigger with a longer and wider body that will make for a roomier cabin and boot. The styling is an update of today's and the same goes for the engines. But the biggest improvement will be to the quality of the cabin where more expensive plastics and trim will make for a higher quality feel.

What makes it really special?

The mixture of strengths that make the Focus such a great buy and enjoyable car to drive and own. Expect the new Focus to keep its mantle as Britain's favourite car, a record it has held for over three and a half years. It looks like Ford is back in the business of building great cars.

You couldn't find a sexier model on the catwalk!
A body like Kylie, and a finish like Henry.
I'd buy it for the mother in law.
So middle of the road, I can't see the kerb!
It's a car wash-out. I'd rather walk
