My other car? Oh that's a Ferrari, it's parked in my garage

Chris Smart can't afford £15m dream motor so painted it on to door

Unable to rustle up the £15m he needed to buy his dream Ferrari, car enthusiast Chris Smart came up with an innovative solution - paint it on his garage door.

He spent two weeks sketching and painting the rare 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO with weather resistant paints.

Now neighbours and passers-by could be forgiven for thinking the customer support worker has traded in his BMW 1 Series for a classic motor.

Married 32-year-old Chris, who studied art at college, said: 'I hated the garage door before because it was really dull.

'I saw garage covers on the internet and wanted one unique to me.

'I have always loved this particular car and wanted to make it a bit of fun.

'However, it would certainly be nice to have a real one in there.'

His creative solution is in line with the brainchild of Austrian artist Hannes Langeder who has created the  Fahrradi Farfall FFX. It is make to look like a 250mph Ferrari supercar but is in fact a rather expensive bicycle.

Instead of using a V12 engine and the latest Formula One technology, the Fahrradi relies on calfpower rather than horsepower.

It was created by Austrian artist Hannes Langeder, who spent a year building the vehicle.
