Paris 2010: Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

- Just 999kg weight thanks to carbon fibre construction - 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds - 570bhp V10 with all-wheel drive

What's all the fuss about?

Fuss? When an edgy carbon fibre Lamborghini concept drives through flames like a wild future vision of super sports cars there's plenty of fuss. Turn that 999kg upside down and it's a devilish number too. The Sesto Elemento (sixth element) previews Lamborghini's vision of the future. Bring it on we say!

Any new technology?

The name itself suggests technological breakthrough; Lamborghini has used all its expertise in carbon fibre - with help from Boeing among others - to create an extreme lightweight concept. With its 5.2-litre V10 pushing 570bhp to all four wheels the power-to-weight ratio is an astonishing 1.75kg per bhp. That allows this concept to reach 62mph in just 2.5 seconds, the low mass also helping the car be as economical as possible for something so focussed on performance.

Estimated release date: It's a concept for now... but we can all pray.

Estimated cost: If it ever goes on sale its price will be as extreme as its looks - don't count on much change from £250,000.
