Suzuki shows new Alto

Small car specialists Suzuki is to show its all new Alto at the Paris Motor Show this October.

The diminutive Alto will join a pair of future-looking fuel cell cars on Suzuki's Paris show stand.

Unlike the two alternatively fuelled machines the Alto will be powered by a conventional petrol engine.

Suzuki has yet to reveal exactly what engine will be under the Alto's bonnet, but it's likely to be around 1.0-litre in capacity.

Combined with the Alto's light weight and small footprint it should achieve a very low consumption and CO2 emission figures.

Despite its tiny dimensions Suzuki is promising ample interior space, its wheels pushed out to each corner to maximise interior space.

Pricing is expected to start in the region of £6,000, with sales anticipated to start early in 2009.
