A valet was left red-faced after he caused an astonishing pile up of cars worth around £270,000 in Miami, US.
Jaw-dropping images taken outside the luxury Epic Hotel in Miami show a 4x4 Jeep Grand Cherokee taking a rest on top of a £75,000 Maserati Gran Turismo S as well what is thought to be a Porsche Speedster 356 worth around £125,000. The driver of the Cherokee, reported to be a valet, is thought to have lost control of the vehicle, sending it careering over the parked cars.
Also hit was a Mini Cooper Countryman S, which at £22,000 was the least expensive casualty of the accident. Added to the value of the Cherokee and the other luxurious models involved the total damage has been estimated at £270,000 - a bad day at the office for one very careless valet.
Fortunately no one was injured or trapped in the crash.
Despite the enormity of wreckage on show the accident pales in comparison to a pile-up of supercars in Japan last year that caused an estimated £2m worth of damage. Thirteen sportscars, including eight Ferraris, three Mercedes and a Laborghini Diablo were smashed to bits in the incident dubbed as the world’s most expensive car accident.
The incident was believed to have been caused when a Ferrari driver hit a central barrier while trying to overtake another vehicle in wet conditions. Ten members of the group travelling to a supercar gathering in Hiroshima were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
