Best of the Detroit Motor Show

The 2012 motor season always kicks off with the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and despite being dominated by the big three home manufacturers there were plenty of new treats and exciting concepts that have a strong chance of making it across the pond.

  er G, you don't live in an area that floods or gets snowed solid then? My old Landy tows out a lot of 'wasters' every winter. I also have a Bluemotion Golf that gets me 70 mpg

Porsche 911 Cabriolet

Porsche purists may wince but drop-top 911s are always a hit, and the latest 991-series has just had its roof removed in fine style. The fabric roof closely echoes the natural roofline of the coupe and stows behind the seats neatly, with the ability to be raised or lowered up to 31mph.
